“The liturgy for the dead is an Easter liturgy.  It finds all its meaning in the resurrection.  Because Jesus was raised from the dead, we, too, shall be raised” (Book of Common Prayer, page 507).

The priest should be notified as soon as possible on the death of a Church member.  It is proper that baptized Christians be buried from the Church, with arrangements for the funeral liturgy made in consultation with the clergy.

The St. Thomas Memorial Garden is available for the interment of cremated remains of Church members.  Arrangements are made through the Parish Administrator.

Pre-planning one’s own funeral liturgy is encouraged.  Such pre-planning not only insures that one’s wishes will be honored but is a ministry to survivors, as they are relieved from making important decisions during a time of great grief and stress.  If you desire to pre-plan all or part of your funeral, please contact the rector.
