    Becoming a member

There are three ways to become a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church:

    1. The Sacrament of Baptism is for those not previously baptized in the Name of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit).  Baptism incorporates the baptized into the Body of Christ, which is the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church.
    2. The Sacrament of Confirmation is for people who have received Trinitarian baptism, but who have never made a public, mature commitment to the Christian faith and life.  Confirmation is not a ‘rite of passage’ that indicates adulthood; rather Confirmation is the beginning of a life-long commitment undertaken by those with the intellectual, emotional and spiritual maturity to make such a commitment.
    3. Reception is for those who have received Trinitarian baptism and have previously made a mature commitment in any other Christian church.  The previous practice of only receiving Roman Catholics and Orthodox Christians no longer applies due to recent canonical changes.

Please contact one of the clergy for more information.
